La Mezcla is a performance group that explores cultural identity and social justice through multi-disciplinary rhythmic collaborations. The current work, Pachuquismo, uses Tap, Mexican Zapateado, and live percussion to explore the Zoot Suit culture of 1940’s Los Angeles and the social conditions of Chicano/a youth, highlighting the experience of las pachucas.
