War Memorial and Veterans Building, SF

KD>>MG and EchoTheaterSuitcase project is creating a new performance work together with veterans and non-veteran civilian artists in collaboration with the American Legion War Memorial Commission (ALWMC) and Veterans for Peace (VFP), in honoring the centennial anniversary of Armistice day, November 2018.

Centennial Reckoning will bring to light untold stories of LGBTQ+ and immigrant service members from WWI forward. At this historic moment in time we foreground the stories of those who have held important roles in our military and civilian worlds throughout time. These individuals have often been unacknowledged, underrepresented or even punished based on their central identities, as a part of their service experience. At this moment in time,  it is crucial to recognize the fabric of our country, founded on the immigrant experience. Celebrate the hard work, leadership and service of our LGBTQ+ community members. Common humanity and the power of our intersectional identities creates the strength of our communities and country.
