Instruction begins with stretches to prep the mind, body and its limbs. Moving next into a fundamental breakdown of why we are here and what it means to vogue, instructor explains the significance of the movement, its elements, and its place in ballroom culture. Following is a series of across-the-floor elemental drills, in lines and as individuals to identify each artist’s area for growth. These elements are the fundamentals of Vogue Fem Performance: Catwalk, Duckwalk, Hands, Floor Performance, Spins and Dips. Continuing into “battles,” artists will compete 1 vs 1 in a mock-category to train for walking a Vogue category at a ball. Class will conclude with a freestyle session where artists will perform what they have absorbed from instruction.
