Artistic Director Marc Brew is seeking dancers with and without physical disabilities for contracts beginning in March 2019 and July 2019. Current repertoire includes works by Nadia Adame, Robert Dekkers, AXIS Artistic Director Marc Brew and a new commission for 2019 by international dance-theater choreographer Arthur Pita (UK).

AXIS offers:
-Health Benefits provided
-Annual 40 week contracts that usually commence in January and end at Thanksgiving with a 4-6 weeks off in June or July with pay periods twice per month
-Rehearsals are in Oakland at The Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts, 10:30am – 4pm Monday-Friday
-AXIS tours Nationally and Internationally roughly 4-8 weeks per year

We are looking for dancers that are highly motivated, have strong performance, teaching and communications skills, and are committed to fully participate in our extensive program of ambassadorial education work worldwide. Dancers are required to create collaboratively, perform and teach locally and abroad.

The Peridance Capezio Center in NYC is coming back to San Francisco to hold a Ballet / Contemporary Workshop & Audition on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:30 – 3:30pm at Alonzo King LINES Ballet!

The class is taught by Nikki Holck, the Rehearsal Director of Peridance Contemporary Dance Company.
You are invited to take the class as a workshop or as an audition for the following programs at Peridance Capezio Center:

· THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: 2-year program designed for pre-professional students who want to invest in an intensive collegiate-level training program. This program offers two tracks: Ballet/Contemporary and Commercial Dance. Fall 2019 starts, ages 17-25.

· TEEN SUMMER INTENSIVE: 3-week intensive, June 24th – July 14th, 2019 for dancers looking to develop their dance skills in the heart of NYC’s dance community, ages 13-17.

· BLUEPRINT SUMMER INTENSIVE: 2-week intensive, August 5th – 17th, 2019 for pre-professional students looking for an inspiration blast to their training, ages 17-25.

There will full and partial scholarship opportunities, determined at the time of the audition.

eMotion Arts Dance Co. Auditions

eMotion Arts Dance Co. is looking for professional dancers, all genders; with strong ballet technique. They have scheduled performance dates in April, June, July, August, October, November and December with more dates to be announced. Performances include several well-known SF Dance Festivals, and performance spaces in SF and the South Bay. This Season will include new works in collaboration with a visual artist, a musician, and a composer. eMotion Arts Dance Co. is offering weekly company class and teaching opportunities in their educational program.
The audition will consist of a Ballet class and choreography from the company repertoire (contemporary movement with ballet influence).

This audition is set up as part of ODC School Audition Series and has a Drop-in fee of $15.

La Tormenta: Hip Hop Team Audition

This season the company will continue to grow by adding a new team and a new instructor! That’s right your eyes do not deceive you, La Tormenta is beyond thrilled to add Maurice as an instructor to their dance fam! Maurice will be directing La Tormenta’s very first Hip Hop Fusion Team by the name of Mi Gente.

What will Mi Gente be like?
Mi Gente will be a gender neutral intermediate hip hop fusion team. This season Maurice will fuse hip hop, twerking, j-setting, and some bachata!

What to bring?
Dance shoes or sneakers or shoes that allow you to turn
Workout clothes

Dancers Needed For Dance Films

Submission Deadline: Sun, Jan 27

The Caroline Liviakis Dance Company based in San Francisco, CA, is looking for 2 female dancers to dance in 2 dance films to be submitted to dance film festivals both domestically and internationally. The films feature a highly theatrical and athletic movement style that is a fusion of jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary.

CLDC specifically needs dancers strong in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and/or Vogue and with the ability to use their face theatrically while dancing. Age range 18-35.

For initial consideration send the following to
-Rehearsal availability (particularly on Sundays for the next few months)
-2 videos of you dancing 2 different styles: Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, African Dance, Modern, or Vogue

CLDC will primarily consider dancers who attend company workshops and/or performances and who display an active interest in the company’s work and vision.

Dancers are paid small performance stipends.


La Tormenta Bachata: Teams Auditions

La Tormenta is celebrating its 2nd birthday and kicking off Season 5!
On Wednesday January 23 they will hold 2 auditions:

Audition for La Tormenta’s Bachata Partner work performance teams:
Intermediate team
Advanced team
These teams focus on body movement, complex turn patterns, footwork, tricks, transitions, and urban fusion. No partner required to audition.

Audition for La Tormenta’s bachata fusion leaders team directed by Jhonatan Parco or our follows bachata fusion team known as Supernova directed by Daniela Parco. These teams are gender neutral so feel free to try out for either. The Leaders team focuses on bachata footwork, body movement, and leaders styling.
Supernova focuses on bachata footwork, arm styling, body movement, floor work, and bachata fusion with hip hop and jazz.

These teams will perform not only in the San Francisco Bay Area but also travel with the company to perform at festivals of the teams choice.

PUSH Dance Company – Audition Series

PUSH Dance Company is offering dancers ages 18-26 a unique performance-opportunity called Pathways during their residency at Bayview Opera House in San Francisco. This program is open to dancers of all styles/genres and is provided by PUSH and BVOH. Dancers must be available to rehearse and take part in all career coaching, marketing and technology tools activities. A stipend of $500 per participant is provided upon completion of the program. A Call-back audition is set for March 18th. Dancers will be asked to perform materials from Raissa Simpson’s Codelining 2.0 and must have the ability to collaborate with others.

Rambert School, one of the world’s leading and most historic conservatoires, will be returning to Los Angeles on Sunday 17 February 2019. We will hold a day of auditions and workshops at USC Glorya Kaufman International Dance Center.

AUDITIONS are open to young dancers who want to progress their professional dance training in the UK, on our internationally regarded undergraduate FD/BA Honours Degree in Ballet & Contemporary Dance (validated by the University of Kent).

WORKSHOPS are open to aspiring young dancers, aged 14-19 years, who are considering their next steps in dance training and who might be interested in auditioning for the School in the future. Participants will gain an insight in to the ‘Rambert School Way’ in a unique workshop led by Amanda Britton, our incredible Principal & Artistic Director, herself an alumnus of the School and of Rambert company.
