This 3-part workshop explores movement and perception of relatively small regions of ourselves. Micro-movements stimulate different types of mechanoreceptors, enlivening and rehabilitating our tissue and growing our ‘body map’ in very specific ways. These physical practices vary in speed and approach: some include shaking, some take up to 20 minutes to unfold. Come learn to release deeply held tension—or to create tension when there is too much slack. These classes will include discussion, short anatomical videos and sequenced movement practice. Each class will build upon the last. Traditional Hatha yoga asanas & larger movements will be interwoven as to experience the more immediate effects of the small movements that have come before.
