Gaga/Improvisation 3-Day Workshop

Cost: $140 before Fri, Jun 15, $190 after

Each day will consist of a Gaga/Dancers Class, where participants investigate the Gaga Movement Language (Ohad Naharin/Batsheva), and an Improvisation Class with James Graham. Research and follow your curiosities inside of guided events and learn Graham’s approaches for getting outside of your comfort zone or known territory as dancers…find nuance, find power, find pleasure. Some dance familiarity is encouraged.

In this expanded composition intensive we will unfurl, follow, wildly manipulate, and crash live performance from multiple perspectives: refiguring the body and the self through Feldenkrais, reconstructing the performance space and the performance contract through site specific, technological, and critical strategies, utilizing intermedia to push collage and embodiment into new configurations.

Khepri Productions Summer Intensive

This intensive focus will be belly dance technique, anatomy, injury prevention and building a holistic practice.
Designed as a mixed level intensive, their curriculum is rooted in foundational training. Beginning level dancers will have the opportunity to learn in a thoughtful and safe environment and intermediate/advanced dancers will get the time they need to revisit and refine their foundations.
Mornings start with anatomy, lecture, handouts  and warm up. Afternoons are spent integrating the material from the morning’s lesson into belly dance technique and choreography practice.

Film Production for Dance and Movement

Cost: $2091 general public; $1600 UC students. $30 lab fee.

Explore filmmaking techniques that can be applied to a variety of artistic projects involving the body in motion. Topics include: history of screen dance and video editing basics; production and post-production techniques; relationship of the body to the camera, composition, and sound design; large and small screen projects. No experience needed. Anyone can register for the 3 credit unit course.
