Three works, all created for SF Ballet, and all delightfully distinct. Helgi Tomasson’s neoclassical On a Theme of Paganini, set to Rachmaninov’s brilliant music. For Ibsen’s House, Val Caniparoli created a dramatic, emotional ballet from five of the Nordic playwright’s works. Myles Thatcher’s Ghost in the Machine soars through Michael Nyman’s minimalist score with edgy, fierce dynamism.
