Still I Rise is a thought provoking solo dance-theatre piece presented through the medium of Bharatanatyam (Indian classical dance), spoken word, world poetry, and music. This production explores the parallels between the life and triumphs of Draupadi, a mythological heroine from the epic Mahabharata and the woman today for whom not much has changed since Draupadi’s times. She is the mother, wife, victim, warrior, friend, and the everyday woman. Fri, May 18, 7:30pm, $10-50.
