ODC Co-Artistic Director KT Nelson’s now classic interpretation of Margery William’s beloved children’s book, “The Velveteen Rabbit,” returns to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts for its 29th season. The Velveteen Rabbit is a two-act fantasy told through music, dance and narrative. The story centers around the enduring relationship between a boy and his stuffed rabbit. Told from the perspective of the stuffed rabbit who wants nothing more than to become real, the story explores the deep bond the boy and rabbit develop over time. Despite the rabbit’s shabby and well-worn appearance, the boy continues to love him – and as their relationship grows, they depend upon one another in both good and bad times.
