The Collective SF Community Class is a virtual series focused on creating relationships, starting dialogue, and encouraging collaboration between emerging artists.
Choreographic Score Composition with Maxine Flasher-Düzgünes.
Discussion Theme: Interdisciplinary Composition & Collaboration
Choreographic Score Composition class will consist of a physical and written improvisatory warm-up using the language aesthetics of erasure poetic techniques. The warm-up will be followed by a composition exercise with a text-based choreographic score and an optional showing of discoveries students make within the process. Students are encouraged to bring a writing utensil (although not required) and a receptivity to new ideas.
The class will be followed by a discussion of the composition process and how choreographic scores can be the keys to interdisciplinary collaboration in the contemporary arts scene.
This series is community funded. Your donation helps us compensate our teaching artists, fund the administrative costs of this series, and supports further community engagement programming.
