The Pointe Safe Certified Teacher program, offered by SF Performing Arts PT, takes the guesswork and pressure out of deciding when your students are ready to start pointe. This rigorous 8 week live-online course is packed with explanations of the standard tests, teaches anatomy relevant to each test, covers common injuries and anatomical placement corrections, and supplemental exercises for students struggling to pass. You will gain the confidence to know when to refer a student to a physical therapist, physician or other dance medicine specialist.
Materials are also provided to assist your implementation of the program in your class. You will also have a one hour one-on-one meeting with Kendall Alway, PT, DPT to review your evaluation. A certification through Pointe Safe also means joining our community forum, becoming featured as a certified teacher on our website and exclusive use of the Pointe Safe Certified Teacher logo.
