Artemis Danza: Puccini’s Opera. Women’s Voices

March 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Artemis Danza / Puccini's Opera. Women's Voices

Artemis Danza dedicates founder and artistic director Monica Casadei‘s new project to the representation, investigation and contemporary interpretation of four fascinating heroines immortalized by the composer from Lucca: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Mimì and Turandot.

Puccini sends a clear message right from the titles chosen for his most famous works: Tosca, Butterfly, Turandot, La Bohème. A kaleidoscope of women with different personalities, a universe full of facets, sensitivity.

In the four sketches that make up Puccini’s Opera. Women’s Voices, recognizable without any didactic need, we find Casadei’s personal reading on the theme of the feminine placed at the center of a process of choreographic, visual and musical reinterpretation. Tragic love, thwarted and opposed love, love cruel that destroys, the lust for possession that leads to destruction, live in the faces, in the bodies, in the gestures of the dancers and never cease to make us reflect on the relevance of stories that have moved audiences all over the world.
