SUMMARY:Invisible Womb: Rebirth\, a solo dance-theater work
DESCRIPTION:You may not have the words for it. Your body does. This solo dance-theater performance by psychotherapist and somatic artist Jetaun DeArman holds space for the stories women carry across a lifetime—from girlhood through menopause—that have never been given the space or choice to be seen. Some things live in the body long before they find words: in the silence between diagnosis and healing\, between who we were told to be and who we are becoming. An invitation into slow awakening — unfolding toward ourselves\, with compassion\, tenderness\, and grace. Sunday includes a post-show reflection. \nShare:

SUMMARY:ChoreoTALK: A virtual gathering for choreographers around the topic of self production
DESCRIPTION:This conversation will bring choreographers and/or company representatives from the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City together to discuss the self production model and what its strengths and weaknesses are. We will brainstorm ways in which the arrangements for presenting our work with performance venues might steer away from “space rentals” and towards a more equitable and affordable landscape for dance makers. The information generated at this gathering will be shared later (anonymously) with performance venues\, culminating in a combined gathering of dance makers and venue operators. \nShare:

SUMMARY:HOW TO MAKE A PASSIVE DANCE: An Immersive Dance Performance by SanSan Kwan
DESCRIPTION:In an era marked by increasing political aggression\, How to Make a Passive Dance poses a timely question: is there value in being passive? Asian Americans historically have had a fraught relationship with passivity\, but might there be reason for us to reconsider qualities like deference or quietude? And how can dance – a medium defined by embodied action – serve paradoxically as a space for exploring inaction? This quintet investigates dance as a practice of listening and attunement. \nAudiences will be invited into an intimate\, immersive experience that encourages receptivity. \nShare:
