Celebrate Black Voices with Robert Moses’ Kin

February 20, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$5 – $50

Celebrate Black History Month with a special screening of Robert Moses’ 2003 work ‘Biography’, formerly titled ‘Biography of Baldwin’. Set to very rare recorded conversations from 1961 between James Baldwin, Lorraine Hansberry, Langston Hughes, Emile Capouya and Alfred Kazin, this powerful work explores the explosive power of words married to motion.

The evening will begin on YouTube with an introduction from Robert Moses and an inside look at the creation of Biography. You’ll learn about what inspired the piece and witness never before seen archival footage from the creative process. Then we’ll screen a stage capture of the Biography premiere in its entirety. After the screening, we’ll convene via Zoom for a live, interactive Q&A with Robert Moses.
