Embodying Utopia is a project that gives queer people the space to imagine an ideal world.  Crystal Vielula selected four incredible queer Bay Area dancers/choreographers to imagine a place where they would feel joyful and safe.  She created collages based on their visions and projected those collages onto their bodies as they danced. She also created 3-D portals to each utopia inviting viewers into the dancer’s dreamland. The dances were filmed by Charlie Stellar and will be playing inside each portal.  The event on June 3rd will feature live performances by each of the dancers as they interact with the projections.
