In her tap dance work SOUNDspace—a stripped-down production free of ornate sets and glitzy costumes—, acclaimed choreographer Michelle Dorrance shows how powerfully movement and music are entwined in the bodies of expert dancers.

Featuring 12 dancers and a lone acoustic bassist, Dorrance and her company focus the viewer’s attention with a sense of drama and a depth of expression that reveals the choreographer’s deep connection to the art form’s earliest roots.
