Join Studio 210 in a live conversation with award-winning choreographer Deborah Slater and our two summer residents, Alyssandra Wu & Angela Arteritano, as they discuss art-making and their residency projects.

Through the residency, Angela Arteritano has been exploring the concept of belonging from the perspective of the migratory body, specifically focusing on women in migration. Drawing from her background in visual art and Traditional Flamenco, she utilizes an interdisciplinary choreographic practice to generate a multimedia experience encapsulating the many layers and dualities experienced by the body in migration.

Alyssandra Katherine Dance has been continuing research on her project, The Oriental Woman, which delves into the stereotypes and fetishization of Asian women in Western culture and how, historically, Asian women’s identities are strongly defined by the misogynistic white perspective in Occidental countries.
