Kitchen Sink: Performance Skills for the End of the World
December 20 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
$125Join lifelong collaborators Joe Goode and Marit Brook-Kothlow for a daylong workshop of skills practice. Learn to make the kind of dance/theater that is a tonic for a tender world.
Participants will be guided in building material that comes from the personal “felt experience.”
We will use our voices, our smart phones*, and, of course, our bodies, to craft small performances that reflect something about how we feel in this “end of the world” moment.
Participants should have some background in dance and/or performance.
The image shows two performers standing side by side, each with a large log positioned over their heads, obscuring their faces. Their arms are raised dramatically, fingers splayed in expressive poses.… One performer has visible tattoos on their arm and is wearing a black top with patterned pants featuring white shapes, while the other wears a black outfit with a white grid pattern. The lighting
casts a bluish hue, giving the scene a surreal or theatrical feel, and the background appears to be a projection or textured surface with warm tones. The overall composition evokes a sense of
performance art or abstract expression.
