SUMMARY:Cirque Kikasse in "SANTÉ!"
DESCRIPTION:Is a high-energy circus show where world class acrobatics\, breathtaking balances and contagious energy collide — all aboard an extraordinary truck. The troupe prepares their rooftop terrace for service through a series of playful transformations\, from arranging furniture that becomes a balancing tower 35 feet off the ground\, to the deliberately inefficient cleaning of the truck and trampoline\, to the joyful overflow of the popcorn machine. A bold\, fun and visually striking concept that delivers jaw-dropping virtuosity and thrills\, even for the most seasoned circus lovers. \nShare:

SUMMARY:People's Circus Theatre in "The Unfinished Work of Camille Claudel"
DESCRIPTION:Camille Claudel was an Impressionist sculptor in France at the turn of the century. She defied expectations of women at the time by creating dynamic pieces that shocked the art establishment. Single-handedly\, Camille manipulated marble into artworks that tenderly exposed the full range of her subjects’ humanity. She was a visionary\, but Claudel’s genius came at a price. \nPeople’s Circus Theatre blends circus\, dance\, and physical theatre to tell Camille’s story. In this stunning homage\, Claudel’s art is brought to life through movement—passionate revelation of art in the face of adversity. \nShare:

SUMMARY:Nikitha Sreekant and Kalakshetra Reshma Rajeev in “Nada-Jyoti” & Pooja Ganesh and Eve Salonen in “Tatkar y Taconeo : Steps of two worlds”
DESCRIPTION:Nada-Jyoti\, the eternal interplay between sound and light\, Shiva and Shakti\, and consciousness and energy. From the infinite stillness of Shiva arises Ādi Nāda\, the primordial vibration that breathes life into the cosmos\, where rhythm and sound give form to existence before dissolving back into silence. \n“Tatkaar y Taconeo – Steps of Two worlds” blends India’s Kathak and Spain’s Flamenco. Indian culture and music has had a major impact on how flamenco music and dance were formed. Tatkar y Taconeo explores these cross-cultural parallels through acapella\, live music and impromptu segments. \nShare:

SUMMARY:Mufutau Yusuf in "Impasse"
DESCRIPTION:A powerful\, driving\, high-speed performance with a set and props that reference African immigration\, and confronting the biased narratives etched onto Black bodies throughout history. By challenging the historical racial projections of blackness – its crudeness\, threat\, sexuality\, rage and immorality – the performance unveils its power\, grace\, sensuality\, tenderness\, intelligence and love. Impasse goes beyond mere exploration and invites a reshaping of our sense of self and community. It reclaims our humanity and celebrates the autonomy and self-determination of Black bodies. \nShare:

SUMMARY:Kôdrô Aoussou Evry & Byb Chanel Bibene in "Ici N'Est Pas La Paroisse (This Is Not The Parish)"
DESCRIPTION:Ici N’Est Pas La Paroisse (This Is Not The Parish) is a personal research into the artists’ African identity\, their roots\, spiritual values\, and their divine creators. Some of their questions lie at the origin of this desire to recreate a new dance\, among the dances they underwent “initiatic” practices and posed several questions. Who are they really? What are their existential relationships with others\, their deities\, and themselves? This research and questioning challenges their almost nonexistent comfort zones to give them material for the ways their bodies move in space(s). \nShare:

SUMMARY:Postmortem II
DESCRIPTION:Postmortem II is a 45-minute\, utterly absurd new work of physical theatre following a detective role-playing game amongst postapocalyptic ultra-humans. Featuring some all-time favorite sensational elements (Romance\, Robots\, & Dinosaurs)\, the show visualizes a post-human world\, where survivors clown in the face of extinctions\, questions of free will\, and the total mechanization of life. \nThis is the second show in the Postmortem series\, and is its own standalone story independent of the previous work (although both were performed in morphsuits). \nShare:

SUMMARY:Melissa Cruz Flamenco in "Flamenco Cabaret"
DESCRIPTION:Cruz presents a diverse program of dances\, expressing the full spectrum of human emotion. Deep cante jondo juxtaposes with light-hearted cante chico. The pulse of palmas and the stirring poly-rhythms of heelwork weave and unravel to create tension and release so emblematic of flamenco. A guitar’s rapid picado and thundering rasgueado meet articulating arms and fingers of bailaoras as they bring forth other-worldly inspirations. “Any dancer could make pained faces. But Cruz is clearly possessed by the duende — the spirit that drives this deeply introspective art.” -Rachel Howard\, SF Chronicle \nShare:

\nShare:
