Paufve Dance values community: the friends of friends who become family over a holiday dinner; the crew you call for a ride home from the airport; the buddy prepared to be your biggest fan or co- conspirator or PR agent at the drop of a hat.

For 20 years, Paufve Dance has built community through personal connection and the generosity of good humans. In the spirit of gathering and celebrating artistic community as a form of chosen family, Paufve Dance is delighted to present its Second Annual Film Screening, with three new films directed by Julia Sweeney. The evening will feature:

• 8x8x8 Time Warp Reverie – An artfully edited compilation of 16 years of Paufve Dance’s beloved 8x8x8 series
• Uptown End Times – A celebration in honor of Oakland’s Uptown Nightclub. Randee performs with cellist and composer Chris Evans in the Uptown’s space before they closed their doors permanently, another Covid casualty.
• OLIVIA! A new film featuring dancer Olivia Caldeira Holston performing works set to music by Brazilian female/feminist vocalists and the sounds of Sa?o Paulo.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, holding space for one another, cheers-ing the past year and years and looking ahead at what is on the horizon for Paufve Dance.
