April 25, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
$30 – $100At this time, Dana Lawton Dances has postponed their upcoming performance.
Join Dana Lawton Dances for an evening-length performance and gallery show evoking lighthouse keepers, The Farallonites, at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. The Farallonites is a multi-disciplinary performance investigating the tenacity, resilience, and strength of the human spirit as demonstrated by lighthouse keepers and families who lived on the Farallon Islands 26 miles off the San Francisco shore in the mid- to late-1800s.
The modern dance company performs in a work that weaves dance with light and shadows, poetry, art, and original sound scores to visualize and explore the harsh physical conditions, repetitive labor, and isolation these families endured. Audiences learn more about San Francisco Bay Area history and explore their own human spirits as they identify with the brave “keepers of the light.”
