A group movement ritual enacted in response to mass shootings in the United States. Anyone can join. No experience or preparation is required.

#thisicando is a 6 month commitment to dance a movement ritual in public space each time a mass shooting occurs in the United States, as an act of collective prayer. For the past 3 months Oakland-based dance theater artist Annie Kahane (along with others all over the world) have danced many #thisicando rituals, as there are many incidents of gun violence each week – sometimes each day – that qualify as mass shootings. August 8th marks the halfway point of the commitment – 3 months down, 3 to go.
