Kalyana Sougandhikam was written by Kottayath Thamburan based on events in the Mahābhārata during the Pandavas’ vanavasa ( exile in the forest ) at Kamyaka Forest. While staying near the Gandhamadana Mountains, Draupadi sees a rare Sougandhika flower and asks Bhima to find more. Determined to fulfill her wish, Bhima sets out through the forest, using his great strength to push through obstacles until he reaches the Kadali forest. There, his loud journey disturbs Hanuman, who is meditating. (more information on website)
