SUMMARY:Introduction to Bharata Natyam\, South Indian Classical Dance
DESCRIPTION:All ages! 6 through ….adults! An introductory lesson in the beginning steps and hand gestures ( mudras) \, as well as history of the style\,  as well as other styles of Indian dance. We will be dancing and taking short breaks inbetween for history and mudra lessons. Come prepared to dance barefoot and in comfortable clothes\, loose cotton Indian pajamas or leggings ok too!  Be ready to stretch and sweat a little too.

SUMMARY:The Art of Gesture: Central Asian & Persian-Inspired Dance
DESCRIPTION:This women-centered\, communal class explores the expressive dances of Central Asia and Persian-inspired traditions. Students explore full-body expression through the fingertips\, combining rhythmic footwork\, musical storytelling\, contemporary flow\, and embodied technique. Classes emphasize alignment\, coordination\, and nervous system awareness. All levels welcome. Led by Tara Pandeya\, who performed with Tajikistan’s National Ensemble Lola\, toured as a Cirque du Soleil soloist\, and teaches for LINES Ballet BFA at Dominican University. \n\n
