Capoeira and Maculêlê Workshop

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that “weaves fighting, music, dance, and rituals into a strategy by which people live, struggle, celebrate, and survive together.” This workshop will introduce participants to the movements and music of capoeira, along with the Afro-Brazilian dance of Maculêlê.

Additional Information

Participants should arrive 10 minutes early to check in and fill out a waiver if it is their first time attending any programming at Project Commotion.

Street parking. BART: nearest station is 16th Street Mission Bus: 22 Fillmore 1 block away Entrance to our studio is through the patio gate facing Harrison Street; we are on the corner of 17th Street.
