Here We Go Again: African to Hip Hop w/ Latanya d. Tigner

April 29 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

The workshop will begin with a warm up, incorporating Talawa Technique™, designed to familiarize participants with Bantu and Mande (and their subgroups) religious and social dances of Central and West African regions.  Participants will then depart from the continent on a journey, mapping locations along the transatlantic slave trade through specific movements that fluidly transition into the identities and cultures of Africana people along the way.  Final stop, African American social dance.
