Spring Bay Area Youth Pan-African Dance Conference

The Spring Bay Area Youth Pan-African Dance Conference is a one-day experience for youth ages 8–18 on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Bandaloop Studios in Oakland. Held on the final day of Bay Area Dance Week in partnership with African Queens Dance Company, the event features dynamic classes, creative rehearsal, composition, and a final showcase led by Dandha Da Hora, Imania Fatima Detry, Jessica Diouf, Storm DeBarge, Nikka Maynard, Olutola Afolayan, and Alseny Soumah. Ten free spots are available first come, first served using BADW.

Additional Information

This one-day event invites youth ages 8–18 to train with an incredible lineup of artists in West African, Guinea, Afro-Brazilian, praise dance, Afro-lyical, LA Groove, and drum-and-dance traditions.

Location Tips

Free parking is available at Bandaloop Studios, with additional street parking nearby. Plan to arrive early, as the West Oakland Farmers Market will also be happening and parking in the area may fill more quickly than usual. Please consider carpooling if you can.
