Palo Alto Teacher

The Palo Alto Children’s Theater is seeking a dance teacher/artist to teach children’s dance classes during the school day in elementary schools in the Palo Alto School District. Pay is $32/per class. Up to 9 classes in a day. Teacher do their own scheduling with the school.

Must be responsible, timely, creative. Should be able to demonstrate past experience as a dance teacher/resident artist. Must be willing to be fingerprinted/cleared to work with children.

Seeking Acro & Gymnastics Instructors


Tumble Spot, an acro and gymnastics center in Mill Valley, is hiring coaches who are energetic, fun, reliable, and who like to work with children pre-school age through teens. Seeking experienced teachers for Gymnastics and/or Acro instruction. Dance and performance background is a plus, but not required. Berkeley Ballet Theater’s Work Exchange Program

The Position:

Berkeley Ballet Theater is looking for Work Exchange receptionists to facilitate classes and studio rentals in exchange for free Adult Classes. BBT provides more than 35 Adult Classes per week to more than 1,200 dancers of all backgrounds.

Available shifts:
Monday-Friday: 8:30am-1pm and 3:30pm-7:30pm
Saturday-Sunday: 8am-12pm and 12pm-4:30pm

For each hour worked, Work Exchange receptionists will receive one free Adult Class (regardless of class length)

Qualified candidates will be able to:
– Provide great customer service while greeting students as they enter the studios
– Exhibit professionalism with a pleasant demeanor
– Assist students as they sign into class using MindBody software
– Perform basic janitorial and maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, turning off and on heat, cleaning studios, etc.
– No prior dance experience is necessary!

Teaching Artist Position

Fall 2018- Afterschool, weekends
Mid-Peninsula, San Carlos

San Carlos Children’s Theater, based in San Carlos and serving youth of the mid-peninsula, is seeking a choreographer for children’s shows. Choreographer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, auditions, read through, rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and performances. Choreographer is responsible for the preparation and development of choreographed dance routines. Choreographer will introduce, demonstrate, and supervise rehearsal of cast members dance routines and coordinate performance of dance routines with the designated Director and Vocal Director.
– teaching and rehearsing dance to performance standards
– together with the Director Vocal Director, supervising and directing performances
Artistic Results: Instructor will teach movement skills necessary to create an enjoyable performance for audience and performer.  Skills necessary: Choreographer will be trained in dance and have experience working with youth. Expectations: Applicant to be team orientated. Collaborate with Director and Vocal Director regarding overall look of the show. This is a paid position.

Modern Dance Instructor for Hire

Bay Area Ballet Conservatory is searching for the right candidate to teach modern dance for the 2018-19 School Session. The ideal candidates have a passion for working with youth, a degree in dance and/or a professional dance background. Knowledge of classic modern dance techniques (Horton, Graham, Limon, etc) is preferred, but not required. Classes are Tuesday evenings 5:30pm-8pm.
