Performing Valeska is a dance theater solo project based on the life of cabaret performance artist, Valeska Gert. Born in Berlin and making a name for herself during the Weimar era of the roaring '20's, Valeska performed short theatrical dance solos reflecting the people and world around her. She created the genre, grotesque tanz. Janet will embody Valeska with a script based on Valeska's and others' words about her and her life in Berlin.
