About: Kristin Damrow & Shareen DeRyan

Kristin Damrow is a San Francisco-based contemporary choreographer, director, and educator. She founded Kristin Damrow & Company (KDC) in 2013, earning award nominations for her choreography and visual design. KDC has since expanded to programs like the artist commissioning Merde Project and the free class initiative Bodies of Empowerment. Damrow has been a panelist at FOG Design + Art, SFMOMA, and Oakland Museum of California, fostering community conversations through live performances. Her work blends design theory, movement, scenic elements, and sound, creating immersive experiences. She has taught in the Bay Area for 15 years and nationally at leading institutions. Shareen DeRyan received her initial training at Ballet Arts Academy in Spokane, Washington and continued training at Lines Ballet in San Francisco. In the Bay Area, she is a freelance dancer and has danced for companies like Kristin Damrow & Company for five years and Kinetech Arts for three. She has performed in various works for companies like Fullstop Dance, Mud Water Theatre, Bellwether Dance, ZiruDance and Rawdance. She has performed in works by choreographers like Sidra Bell, Jon Kinzel, Christian Burns, Robert Moses, Mark Foehringer, Christy Funsch and more. Currently Shareen is in her seventh year of dancing for JenniferPerfilio Movement Works. Alongside freelance dancing and co-directing BOE, she also owns a Reiki and sound healing practice.
