Dance with Rhythm & Motion and Dancers’ Group
in the 2026 San Francisco Pride Parade!
Sun, June 28, 2026 Downtown San Francisco
Join Rhythm & Motion and Dancers’ Group in partnership with Yerba Buena Gardens Festival and ODC for the 2026 San Francisco Pride Parade! This is your chance to dance your heart out through the center of the city alongside your friends, teachers and fellow Bay Area dancers! This year we will highlight the parade’s theme,”Resistance In Action,” and express the undiminished spirit of San Francisco as a global leader in the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation and fundamental human rights. Our contingent will include dancers of all ages that together will demonstrate this theme through the power and beauty of dance!
Guided by courageous joy, deep respect and shared purpose and solidarity, our contingent is more than a performance – it is an expression of unity, visibility and pride.
Whether you identify as LGBTQ+, are a parent of a queer or trans child, an ally, an advocate, or all of the above, there is a place for you in this contingent. Dancers of all levels welcome—no previous experience required.
DATES TO KNOW
Choreography released: June 7
Registration closes: June 19
Parade date: June 28

Once you’ve registered, refer to our Dance with Pride page for additional information – including rehearsal days, choreography tutorials our community agreement and more – and other updates leading up to parade day.
THE CHOREOGRAPHY
There are three ways for you to learn the trio of routines we’ll perform in this year’s parade:
-Perfect the routines at FREE in-person rehearsals (participants required to join TWO)
-Practice the routines in your living room with our online videos (Coming soon!)
-Attend select Rhythm & Motion Fusion and Essentials classes (List coming soon!)
All registrants are required to attend at least two rehearsals, as this is a performance and we want our contingent to look sharp for the crowd, the live broadcast and the judges! The rehearsals will also help you learn how to appropriately and safely move the choreography through space (i.e. while traveling down Market Street) and learn more about the message and themes we aim to embody in celebration and in support of Pride and the LGBTQ+ community.
THE COSTUMES
All registrants will receive a limited edition Dance with Pride shirt to wear on parade day. You are welcome to add anything you’d like to enhance your look, especially elements that represent your cultural heritage, or highlight the parade theme. Go as wild and crazy or as sleek and simple as you want. Comfy, supportive shoes and sunscreen highly recommended.
THE SUPPORT
To keep our group moving smoothly we need the help of many volunteers. Please invite friends and family to come out and support our group. They’ll have a great time in the process – and get a shirt to boot! Volunteers supply dancers with water and snacks, hand out stickers and postcards to the crowd, and carry our contingent banner.
To volunteer:
-Choose the “Volunteer” option when you register on this website ($15 fee, includes limited edition shirt)
-All volunteers must watch a short safety video and then answer a survey to qualify as “trained.” https://sfpride.org/parade-participant-training/
-For questions about volunteering, please contact us at [email protected].
Thank you to all of the the dancers & volunteers who joined us in the 2025 San Francisco Pride Parade!
On June 29, 2025, Dancers’ Group and Rhythm & Motion teamed up to form the Dance with Pride contingent in the 2025 San Francisco Pride Parade. Over 190 dancers and volunteers danced through the center of the city performing joyful, energetic routines celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and expressing this years’ theme, Queer Joy is Resistance.

“At the grandstands, with our award ribbon in hand, I stood on the truck watching the group —eyes swelling from tears in awe of the beauty, the grit, the generosity…it was real, alive and full of heart. The judges saw it. Everyone saw it. This is what community looks like. This is what joy looks like. Joy that refuses to quit. Joy that dances through challenges. Joy that uplifts others. Joy that shows up when it is most needed.”
