Rosana Barragan is a dance and movement artist and educator. She earned a Master’s degree in Dance Studies at the Laban Centre/City University in London in 2000. Rosana is also certified in various movement disciplines and as a Somatic Movement Therapist and Educator. She has taught in higher education for 14 years; first in her home country, Colombia, where she created an undergraduate program that focuses on the performing arts and somatics, and later at Saint Mary’s College of California where she currently teaches both theory and practice in the undergraduate and graduate programs and directs the MFA in Dance: Creative Practice program. As a choreographer she has created numerous site-specific works performed in Europe, South America and USA. Rosana has published in academic journals and books, and combines her academic work with her own dance school for children in San Francisco.
