Supports arts and cultural programming in the City of Berkeley that fall within one of two categories:
- Non-arts nonprofit organizations located in the City of Berkeley wishing to produce arts or cultural programming in Berkeley led by a partnering arts organization or teaching artist.
- Arts nonprofit organizations located in the Greater Bay Area (outside of Berkeley) that wish to produce arts and cultural programming in the City of Berkeley.

Awarded to 20 dance projects annually through a competitive two-stage application process. Artists/choreographers and/or companies apply to receive a package of support that includes:

Awards fellowships to gifted artists and scholars without regard to nationality, age, race, gender, or religion, working on projects of any subject area in the following disciplines: Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film/Video, History, Landscape Architecture, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts. While residencies are expected to lead to published or performed works, Bogliasco Fellows have no specific work requirements or obligatory formal presentations. The Fellowship is not a cash prize; Fellows are provided with living quarters, a work space, and full board for a month at the Study Center in Bogliasco, Italy. This deadline is for Spring 2026 residency sessions.

The Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund Program was established to support small nonprofit performing arts organizations (SNPAOs) with adjusted gross revenue under $2 million, in hiring and retaining employees. The Fund reimburses a portion of their payroll costs on a quarterly basis, using a tiered reimbursement schedule where the smallest organizations receive the highest percentage of reimbursement.

Designed to serve artists in financial need who otherwise may delay critical treatment or incur substantial and perhaps overwhelming debt. The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program will provide one-time grants of up to $5,000 for unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies experienced by artists in the past six months. The grants are available to generative artists creating work in visual arts, film/video/digital/electronic arts (not a performer), or choreography who currently reside in the United States, the District of Columbia, a Tribal Nations, or a U.S. Territory.
Cycle 29 will open Feb 11, with a deadline of March 11 by 2pm PT/5pm ET, for emergencies occurring Aug 1, 2024 and later.

Grants for Arts Projects (GAP) supports an expansive range of arts activities to strengthen the nation’s arts and culture ecosystem, including opportunities for public engagement with the arts and arts education, for the integration of the arts with strategies promoting the health and well-being of people and communities, and for the improvement of overall capacity and capabilities within the arts sector.
Grants for Arts Projects supports projects in the areas of Artist Communities, Arts Education, Dance, Design, Film & Media Arts, Folk & Traditional Arts, Literary Arts, Local Arts Agencies, Museums, Music, Musical Theater, Opera, Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works, Theater, and Visual Arts.

Funds nonprofit organizations with the mission of improving the quality of life within the communities associated with the career and legacy of California pioneer Henry Mayo Newhall. These communities include San Francisco, the Santa Clarita Valley of Los Angeles County and the Santa Maria Valley in central California. Grants are typically awarded for one year in the range of $5,000 to $20,000. The Foundation accepts proposals for the following program priorities:

Academic and cultural enrichment programs for children and youth (e.g., math and science; fine and visual arts; performing arts; computer literacy; tutoring and mentoring).

The NEW Program supports small and mid-size dance, theater and multidisciplinary arts organizations with grants of $5,000-$30,000 to enable Bay Area artists to produce visionary projects relevant to the communities they serve. Since 2015, this program has awarded over $4 million to 149 arts organizations.

CA$H Dance accepts applications from dance artists, partnerships or collectives of two or more dance artists, and dance organizations residing and making work in the Bay Area. The grant is $5,000 for dance artists/partnerships/collectives and $5,000 for dance organizations to support your creative activity.
Creative activity may include, but is not limited to, research, administrative and/or artistic development, exploring ideas that might lead to performance, or steps taken to develop and present a performance, community-centered event, or educational activity.

The Creative Capital Award provides individual artists with unrestricted project grants for the creation of bold, innovative, original, and imaginative new artistic works. In addition to unrestricted project grants from $15,000 up to $50,000, the Award offers transformative professional development support including strategic advising, peer mentorship, industry connections, and community-building opportunities. Grants are awarded via a national, democratic, open call, external review process.
The State of the Art Prize aims to recognize and support one artist from every U.S. state and inhabited territory with an unrestricted artist grant of $10,000. Through the 2026 Open Call for the Creative Capital Award, Creative Capital will select recipients for the new State of the Art Prize.
