Gaga is the movement language developed by Ohad Naharin, the Artistic Director of Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Israel. Gaga classes are guided movement experiences of images, ideas, directions, and prompts. We move (however large or small) for the entire class adding layer upon layer.
Graham will guide the participants using a series of evocative instructions that build one on top of the other. Rather than copying a particular movement, each participant actively explores these instructions, discovering how they can interpret the information and perform the task at hand. We will float our flesh, pull our bones, experience physical climaxes, challenge what we think are our limits, become aware of our habits and change them, and take pleasure moving and dancing in a welcoming studio.
