The performance “Land of KAMUY”  is based on the world views of the Ainu people who are indigenous to Hokkaido, Japan. They respect, bless, and live in harmony with Kamuy, the gods of nature. This performance is inspired by the Ainu cosmology and enhances the visibility of their cultural and historical significance. Fusing Butoh and contemporary dance, media technology and poetry with music, also introducing the traditional costumes and ethnic music. The voice of Kamuy presents the daily devotion to the environment and represents a prayer for environmental preservation.
