Her story is more than two thousand years old, but what would Medusa say if she finally had a chance to speak for herself? Jessica Fudim’s full-length, dance-theater solo, Venomous, invites the audience to see things from Medusa’s perspective and move her story beyond that of a monster. Playing between whimsy and darkness. Fudim combines contemporary movement, storybook tableaus, unabashed party dancing and an eclectic soundscore. As she leads us through ancient temples, dark caverns and into Medusa’s fuller humanity, we dig into the complexities of who gets to author one’s own reputation, and who gets to be believed.​
