Oakland Ballet Company: Luna Mexicana
Dancer in Folklorico dress flared out is captured during a spin
Oakland Ballet Company Presents Luna Mexicana, one of the Bay Area’s most elaborate and inclusive Dia de los Muertos events. Like the celebration that inspires it, Luna Mexicana is a beautiful blend of exuberant dance, joyful music, colorful costumes, flowers, candles, food, and – most of all – celebration of family.
Oakland Ballet Company´s 2023 Luna Mexicana program will feature:
The return of Viva la Vida – a ballet inspired by the life and spirit of Frida Kahlo. Co-choreographed by Martín Romero of Ballet Folklórico México Danza and Oakland Ballet Artistic Director Graham Lustig.
