Pompeii Repertory: Beginner Level

$35 – $65Step back into the world of Pompeii and learn a beginner-friendly dance from Detour’s recent immersive production. This repertory workshop will be led by Eric Garcia/Churro, who will guide participants through Asfalt Tango. This workshop is at the beginner level.
A group of drag and dance performers are captured mid-movement on a glowing pink-purple lit stage. They’re dressed in burlesque-inspired costumes—fringe skirts, sequined bras, fishnets, thigh-high… stockings, heeled character shoes, and feathered headpieces. The dancers face away from the camera with their arms lifted and arched overhead, bodies in deep back-curves, creating a dynamic, unified
shape. In the background, audience members watch from both the main floor and an upper mezzanine, their silhouettes framed by vibrant stage lights and the industrial warehouse architecture of the
venue. The atmosphere feels electric, theatrical, and joyfully queer.
