SF International Arts Festival: Lieder for Two

October 25, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm

$15

Lieder for Two is a site-specific work created by Natasha Adorlee for The San Francisco International Arts Festival’s October outdoor program. As movement and dance spaces have been put on hold, the dancers in the Eucalyptus Grove have a surrealist awakening; Performing for an audience after much absence and, in turn, seeing another dancer in their space. Like birds in a mating dance discovering their own mirrored similarities and differences in another body, the boundary between performance and connection breaks apart. What is instead present is a deep need to communicate more primal needs and be understood by another creature.

Lieder for Two is a seven minute duet presented as part of a 30 minute shared bill with sound artist maya burke.

Based out of San Francisco, California, Concept o4 was founded in 2014 by Natasha Adorlee. Our mission from the beginning remains dedicated to making dance programming more accessible to more people through the use of technology and innovative ways to share dance. Our main focuses of creation have been immersive performance and dance filmmaking. In 2016 and 2017, we presented evening-length works at Little Boxes Theater and Toto in San Francisco, CA to sold-out audiences for each performance.

San Francisco International Arts Festival is an annual event, founded in 2003 to celebrate the arts by bringing together a global community of artists and presenting innovative projects focused on increasing human understanding.

The 2020 Festival Program features over 35 art groups from the US and 7 other countries and includes performances across 6 disciplines, including Music, Dance, Theater, Comedy, Theatre, Cirque, and Performance Art.
