Sharp & Fine: Imaginary Country
An image of two performers in an empty gray space full of fog. One is dressed in tones of magenta and is falling. The other is dressed in tones of blue and is catching the first performer's head, gently and without looking.
Sharp & Fine presents the premiere of Imaginary Country, an evening-length work that blends dance, theater, and live on-stage music in an original and surreal story about two friends and the conflict that emerges when one inexplicably starts to see the future. Incorporating devised dialogue and unexpected imagery—a woman turning into a monster, a phone call from the future, an absurdist ball game—Imaginary Country explores the fear, joy, and transformative possibility that come with imagining the future.
Choreographed and directed by Megan & Shannon Kurashige in collaboration with performers Julie Crothers, Sonja Dale, Caitlin Hicks, Molly Levy, and Meredith Webster. Original music composed and performed by Jordan Glenn and Max Judelson with Erika Oba and Cory Wright.
