Jessica Fudim’s full-length, dance-theater solo, Venomous, invites the audience to see things from Medusa’s perspective and move her story beyond that of a monster. Playing between whimsy and darkness. Fudim combines contemporary movement, storybook tableaus, unabashed party dancing, and a soundtrack that ranges from the swingin’ sixties to ferociously live electric guitar. As she leads us through ancient temples, dark caverns, and into Medusa’s fuller humanity, we dig into the complexities of who gets to author one’s own reputation, and who gets to be believed.
