Amy Seiwert’s Imagery: Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon

January 19 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)
$10 – $25

Dancer Kelsey McFalls performs a back bend on the floor, her arms gracefully extended overhead in a scene from "Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon." The strategic lighting casts a dramatic shadow, emphasizing the contours of her costume and movement. The performance details are overlaid in contrasting red text, adding to the visual impact of the photo by David DeSilva. There are also red Chinese characters on the image which read "Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon," resonating with the performance's exploration of citizenship and identity.

Amy Seiwert’s Imagery proudly announces the culmination of Natasha Adorlee’s two-year artistic fellowship.

Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon tells the poignant story of Adorlee’s mother’s immigration from 1960s Taiwan to the United States. Step into a multimedia world as ASI dancers Joseph A. Hernandez and Kelsey Mcfalls lead you on a universal story of citizenship, love, loss, and transformation. Natasha Adorlee weaves her distinct choreographic movement, 3-D projection, and music to design an immersive experience. The score is a musical journey featuring Roberta Flack, Hua Hao Yue Yuan, and Son Lux, with original sound design by Adorlee.

60 minutes | No Intermission

Adorlee’s Artistic Fellowship and Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon are partly supported by an Arts Project Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
