Month For Dancer’s Health – Concussion in Dance with Dr. Stephanie Greenspan, DPT

FreeA concussion is an injury to the brain that can have negative consequences on physical and mental health, especially if not managed appropriately. In this session we will discuss what happens to the brain when a concussion occurs, how teachers or family members can recognize signs of a concussion, and best practices for concussion management. In addition, we will talk about how rehabilitation of dancers after concussion needs to account for the specific physical and environmental demands of dance.
