The 2026 Summer Arts & Activism Project will bring 20 young women/GNC youth ages 14-21 from San Francisco for four weeks to:
-Make site-specific dance & off-the-ground dance on suspended steel hoops, with professional choreographers Jo Kreiter and Megan Lowe.
-Explore body percussion and vocalizing with Phoenix Song.
-Earn $550
-Create and perform your own original dances
-Uplift community voices who have manifested or are working to manifest real ownership on the city’s streets.
-Connect with young women/GNC youth across neighborhoods, schools, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity

Movement/Dance Hourly Teaching Artist
Performing Arts Workshop seeks Movement Teaching Artists (Afro-Peruvian, Bomba, Hawaiian, Pan African, Bhangra, Mexican Folklorico, Son Jarocho, Tap, Contemporary, hip-hop, Capoeira, and other movement arts) to teach Transitional Kindergarten – 5th grade Afterschool classes in semester-length and yearlong residencies at our partner sites in San Francisco.
Our teaching artists are active artists and growing educators in their artistic practice. As representatives of the Workshop in the classroom and the communities they serve, teaching artists share a commitment to our mission and racial justice values. 2025-2026 Itinerant Dance Teacher
Itinerant Dance Teacher (Arts Department) during the 2025-2026 school year. This position requires a Single Subject Dance Credential or Single Subject Physical Education credential issued before January 1, 2022 with English Learner Authorization.
Minimum Qualifications
SFUSD requires all teachers to hold or be pursuing a valid California teaching credential and an English Learner or Bilingual Authorization.
