Smuin Center for Dance is a bright, airy space that has been completely renovated to meet the needs of dancers, including sprung marley floors and two individually climate-controlled studios. We also have the following amenities available to all renters:
– Two restrooms and changing areas
– Kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, and sink
– Reception/Entry lounge area for guests
Our space is easily accessible. The building is within a block of four main bus routes and is a 20 minute brisk walk from 16th Street Mission BART station. Metered and free street parking is also remarkably easy around the studio, and there is paid daily parking in a nearby lot.

Six spacious, bright, and professionally equipped studios are available to rent at Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Our studios are ideal for teaching your own dance classes, rehearsals, auditions, and photo shoots. Each studio includes access to a piano, streaming equipment, and professional sound system.

Seeking Dance Events
The Hillside Club is a beautiful space with a sprung wood floor, stage and sound equipment. We used to have a someone who booked dance events – concerts, workshops, etc – in the space, and we miss that activity. The venue is available to rent for dance events, but we would also love to have someone in the position of booking dance events into the space. This is a volunteer position – perfect for anyone who wants to present dance, see more dance presented, or make use of this wonderful venue.
We are primarily interested in social dances such as folk dances, square dances, and partner dances, and human-made music, as opposed to techno or industrial sounds.
