RAW: STEAMROLLER Dance Company & Lucy Dillon

March 12, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$10

STEAMROLLER Dance Company presents Imposter Syndrome, a disturbing cabaret featuring the company’s athleticism, which uses personal narratives of a queer Asian cast to explore the intersections of constantly changing definitions of queer identity with race, gender and sexuality.

Inspired by the research of ecologist Suzanne Simard, Lucy Dillon’s mother tree will investigate and reflect the wisdom of the forest. Suzanne Simard’s research depicts how trees have evolved to adapt to one another, communicate, sacrifice for one another, and share resources through an underground network of roots. This piece will examine the wisdom of these ancient trees and question how these lessons of listening, adapting, sharing, and sacrificing apply to the survival of modern-day human communities.
