Auditions

Seeking experienced modern dancers, who will be paid monthly for development and performance of new and repertory works. We prefer to develop long-term relationships; minimum one-year commitment required through performance in fall 2027.

Auditions run like an informal class, with a group warm-up followed by learning a phrase. No need to prepare any materials in advance. Bring a CV if you have one, but it is not necessary. Come with comfortable dance clothes and an open mind!

The company offers challenging material in a fun and supportive rehearsal environment; choreographic opportunities will also be available. Company members will be eligible to attend summer dance camp in 2027 for the creation of site-specific work.

The San Francisco Opera will audition dancers for the 2027 Season on Saturday, 10/3.

Female-identifying performers, please be prepared to dance in both heels and flats. Male-identifying dancers should bring sneakers and jazz shoes. Bring a hard copy of your headshot and resume. All dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire and be prepared to learn multiple combos. Callbacks will be held the same afternoon.
