Freestyle Friday, aka Barefoot Boogie, is a freestyle dance jam. There’s no instruction; do your own dance to a wide range of music played by our DJ — world, funk, blues, pop, oldies, electronica, and more. Dance by yourself or with others — it’s up to you. No smoking, no drinking, no attitudes, just friendly people who love to dance. Attire is casual, and most people are barefoot, but dance shoes are allowed. We strive to be a scent-free space for those of us who are “scents-itive.”

The Rising Cobra: Embodying Sekhmet’s Creative Fire
In the ancient Egyptian tradition, the Iaret—the rising cobra—was the symbol of creative fire and the inner spark that awakens the whole body. In this guided ritual movement, we explore the subtle undulation, pulse of erotic vitality, and the power that rises toward clarity and connection.
We begin with an introduction to Sekhmet and the symbols found on Her ancient statues. Through movement prompts and guided somatic imagery, we explore the cobra’s energy through the body, focused on the creative impulse and pleasure transformed from personal expression into a sacred offering to the Divine.

Dancing with Sex and Spirit
What is sex? Is it an action? A location in your body? What does spirit mean to you? What is the relationship of sex to spirit? This 60 minute class creates a foundation for the exploration of the body in relation to each individual’s personal expression of spirit and sex. From the comfort of your own home, learn the basics of energy body movement exploring your relationship to the concepts of what sex means to you, and then diving into what the concept of spirit means to you. We will then invite the opportunity to integrate through dance with the forces of the two to weave and united.
