ODC/Dance will open it’s doors to the public, for a rare chance to see our artists in process. Leading up to her world premier as part of Summer Sampler, we invite the community to come into the studio to get a glimpse of the process of making work at ODC.

Tapestry – Weaving the Community of Dance
Tapestry: Weaving the Community of Dance is a celebration event, weaving together the community of dance through the art of performance. This annual concert features professional dance companies, student dance companies and youth groups from the Bay Area. Tapestry provides participants with the opportunity to share performance space in a friendly and supportive environment. This experience is unique and inspiring for the dancer and the audience.
MODERN NATYA
Modern Natya fuses the expressive fluidity of post-modern dance with the structured technicality of traditional Indian dance lineages. Each class teaches fresh choreography that explores contemporary themes while experimenting with Bharatanatyam-based technique drills, improvisation, and contemporary movement vocabulary. This class is a space for play, self-discovery, and cultivating your most authentic movement expression.
All levels are welcome.

HIP HOP / MODERN FUSION
This class combines old school hip hop with pockets of modern dance. Dancers of all ages and backgrounds can expect a soulful class that culminates in a professional performance. All levels are welcome – no experience required!

MODERN DANCE
This class offers a supportive and challenging environment for adult dancers returning to dance or recovering from injury. The curriculum integrates the foundational strength and anatomical awareness of Horton dance technique with the fluidity and efficiency of release technique. Pilates principles are woven throughout the class to enhance core stability, promote proper alignment, and aid in injury recovery and prevention. This class focuses on mindful movement, body awareness, and intelligent progression to build strength, flexibility, and artistry.

Dance-a-Rama 2026, 1pm show
27th Annual Dance-a-Rama! Come join us for an afternoon of LIVE dance performances at beautiful Western Sky studio in Berkeley. Eight talented East Bay choreographers will show eight intriguing dances, from Modern Dance to Belly Dance, from solos to quintets, from works in process to new dances to revivals. This year we will have two showings of the same works to allow more people to attend. Sunday, May 3 at 1pm and 4pm. Admission is FREE.
